De L7800-serie van drie-terminal positieve regelaars is verkrijgbaar in TO-220, TO-220FP, TO-3 en D2PAK-pakketten en verschillende vaste uitgangsspanningen, waardoor het handig is in een breed scala aan toepassingen.Deze regelgevers kunnen lokale on-card regelgeving te bieden, waardoor de distributieproblemen van een enkelpuntsregeling worden weggenomen.waardoor het in wezen onverwoestbaar is.Als er voldoende warmteafzetting is, kunnen ze meer dan 1A uitgangsstroom leveren.Deze apparaten kunnen worden gebruikt met externe componenten om verstelbare spanning en stroom te verkrijgen.
